The Third Annual Hip Joint Preservation and Resurfacing Arthroplasty Course will be held September 4–5, 2009, at the Marriott Waterfront Hotel in downtown Baltimore. The conference will bring together the world leaders in total hip resurfacing for a combination of didactic presentations, focused discussions, and surgical demonstrations. A focus will be the current principles of patient selection, surgical techniques, and avoiding complications such as femoral neck fracture. Comparisons will be made to the current generation of total hip replacement technology. Pertinent basic science issues will be presented and discussed including femoral head blood supply, implant fixation, tribology, retrieval analyses, pathology, and metal ion exposure. Future directions, such as cementless femoral fixation and the evolution of bearing surfaces, will also be addressed. Click here to see a PDF of the course brochure.
You can register online or by printing out the registration form and sending the completed form to the fax number or to the mailing address that is listed on the form. If you are not using your own personal credit card to charge the fees, please download the Third Party Credit Card Authorization Form. Following the Third Annual Hip Joint Preservation and Resurfacing Arthroplasty Course, we will be hosting the 19th Annual Baltimore Limb Deformity Course. The courses are not affiliated with each other; however, both courses will be held under the auspices of the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics.
