Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital is dedicated to providing superior health and quality of life programs with an unmatched continuum of care for the elderly, frail and ill in a warm, caring environment.
Levindale Geriatric Center includes a modern, elegant, brand-new building with services that include skilled long-term, respite, dementia, respiratory and comfort/hospice care.
The Households at Levindale is a $31 million dollar expansion on the Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Campus. A dedication to celebrate the first phase was December 7, 2011, and then the doors opened to residents in January 2012. There are 84 private suites of bedrooms and bathrooms in six households of 14 rooms each. In addition each household has a modern kitchen, a hearth area and a den. There is also a two-story atrium with a café, boutique, museum exhibit and other lovely amenities.
The Specialty Hospital at Levindale, located in another wing, offers treatment for complex medical conditions- including behavioral health, ventilator, heart and rehabilitation challenges. Levindale has a full-time physician staff on-site, which is a rarity for long-term care centers.
Levindale's out patient services include a psychiatric day treatment program, a mental health clinic and adult day services.
Levindale is also located on the campus of Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, one of the most prestigious hospitals in the Baltimore area, if the need arises for quick critical-care treatment.
Levindale accepts a leadership role in defining and developing elder care. We proudly became the first registered Eden Alternative center in Maryland. This philosophy infuses companionship, empowerment and spontaneity into the daily lives of residents and patients.
The Neighborhood Model was the next step in our journey to change nursing home culture. This ideal turns rigid nursing homes into places where residents' desires are the priority.
We celebrate life in accordance with Jewish values.
